Homecoming

Safety Town and Fall Festival

On Friday night Hannah, my mom, and I went trick or treating at Safety Town. We got all dressed up and put on our coats and headed out to downtown Frisco. Lauren stayed at home with my dad while we headed out for some Halloween fun. Here we are getting ready to leave.

Yes, we still love Scarecrow girl.
This is the line to get into Safety Town. It wrapped all the way around the fire station. We decided to go ahead and see how the line moved, and it moved pretty fast considering how long the line was. After a while we found some friends to cut in line with so it moved even faster.

This is Zachary. Isn't he the cutest little clown? He was born about a month before Hannah and I taught first grade with his mom, Sondra. We enjoyed being with them.

After getting some goodies at Safety Town we headed over to FBC Frisco, where Hannah goes to school. We waited in line to get her face painted by one of her teachers. She loved it and was SOOO patient. While we were waiting we saw her other teacher. Hannah acted very shy even though she is in LOVE with her. Here is the finished product:

We had so much fun celebrating the season and look forward to thie weekend too!

Halloween Costumes

I am really excited about Hannah's costume this year! She is in LOVE with Tinkerbell and April had a pattern for a costume. We have watched "tinkebell" the movie at last 30 times! April did such a great job making the costume and I can't wait for her to wear it. We are going trick or treating at Safety Town and to the Fall Festival at her school's church tonight. Going to try out the new costume! Lauren is going to be a lady bug. I made her little outfit and am glad that it turned out cute.

Hannah also gets to wear hers to school next week! Lots of wear out of April's hard work! Thanks April!

Poor Lauren

Ok...so I was trying to make Lauren a bow for her Halloween costume and things got a little out of control! I laughed at the bow (not my child) for quite some time. She just looked so funny! Don't worry we went to Hobby Lobby today and picked up some ribbon to make a normal bow for the costume. She was such a good sport!

I was trying to get her to smile for the camera, but she just looks at me. She has this look on her face like, "mother, what is that?" Here is what I got!
Again?
Mom..that is enough!
Lauren had her first "sick" visit to the doctor this week. It turned out she had an ear infection in her left ear and the start of one in her right ear. I was shocked because Hannah was almost 2 when she had her first ear infection. Lauren is feeling much better and back to her happy self. She weighed in at a whopping 12lbs 3 oz! That is 2lbs in about 5 weeks! Way to go Lauren!

Shaving Cream Fun

After Hannah came home from school with the shaving cream egg I decided we should have some shaving cream fun. We used to do this at school with our kids and it was easy to clean up so we tried it. Hannah thought it was tons of fun especially the clean up part. She loves playing with the water from the hose even if it is freezing cold!

It's fun! You should try it!

I finally feel like a REAL mom.

I feel like I have been formally inducted into the mom's club. On Friday, Hannah had the stomach virus for the first time in her life. If you know me very well you will know that I don't do throw up very well AT ALL. When I was teaching I always made the teacher next door walk them to the nurse if the were feeling sick or had gotten sick. I would send students IMMEDIATELY if they felt even the SLIGHTEST bit sick. I would QUICKLY walk (well sometimes run) the other way at any mention of the topic. Well, I knew that my time would come at sometime and that I would have to endure the pain. I am happy to say that I stayed calm and QUICKLY took care of the situation. Without going into to details, lets just say that God knew I needed to ease into this whole thing and it was a minor incident. I am proud to say that I am a REAL mom now, and oh...Hannah is feeling much better!

Three Months Old (tomorrow)

Sweet Lauren Bear,

It is so hard to believe that you are already three months old. We absolutely can not imagine life without you now that you have been here with us. You are a wonderful baby with such a sweet disposition and your smile melts my heart every time I see it. Here are some things that you do now at three months old:

-I think you weigh about 12 lbs, but I am not sure about that.
-You wear 0-3 month size clothes.
-You wear size one diapers.
-You usually nurse five to six times a day with a bottle at night from daddy.
-At night we put you in bed at around 8:00 or 8:30, and daddy feeds you again around 10:30. Most of the time you sleep until about 7:00 depending on the day.
-You LOVE watching and listening to Hannah. She is one of your favorite people to be with.
-The puppies adore you and you adore the puppies. Emma especially loves you. She will turn belly up next to you on the floor just to be close.
-You have pretty good head control and you tried the excersaucer for the first time last weekend. With a little support you did great. Hannah played with all the toys while you watched.
-You usually are great at going places and only cry occasionally when you can't see what is going on.
-You still love being swaddled and sleeping in the swing. We are working on sleeping in the bed more and the swing less.

We love you so much and look forward to seeing you grow!

Love,
Mommy, Daddy, and Hannah A little blurry and dark, but you can see what Emma loves to do next to her.

Happy Three Months Old!

Kaden's Third Birthday Party

Hannah and Daddy headed out to Keller on Saturday to attend Kaden's third birthday party! The weather was a bit too cold for Lauren so I stayed home to keep her nice and warm! Hannah had a wonderful time. She came home with a cute red bandana, a bluebonnet on her check, and lots to say about the horses. Although she was not willing to ride either horse, she loved seeing them and has talked about them ever since. I was sad that I did not get to go, but I am excited that we will see Angie and Kaden this weekend. We can't wait to see you again and Happy Birthday sweet boy!

Fun Friday!

I decided it would be fun to take the "themes" Hannah is learning about at school and celebrate them on Fridays! This was our first one and I thought it went great. The theme was apples! We read books, created an apple tree collage, drank apple juice, and had lots of fun. We made apple crisps in the oven with cinnamon and sugar. (see below) And we ate everything apple for lunch. I have seen several blogs that do this "muffin tin" munchies with their kids, so I decided to try it out too.

Green and red apple slices with peanut butter, applesauce, apple flavored wagon wheels, apple strawberry puffs, and apple juice to drink! She loved it! I think we will do it again for sure!

My sweet girls!

It's really hard to get a cute picture of a squirmy baby and a busy two year old! I snapped these the other day when we got Hannah out of bed! They are such sweet girls!

I'm sleeping Mommy!

"I'm sleeping Mommy!" Hannah says to me as she is laying next to the "little people" lined up on the floor! She is such a funny girl with quite the imagination. Everyday she amazes me with her knowledge and vocabulary that she is picking up. She LOVES going to school twice a week and does not even look back when I drop her off. At school each week they learn about a letter of the alphabet and a number. I will point to a letter that has learned and ask what it is and here is what she says... "I don't know Mommy. What is it?" Apparently that is what I say when she asks me a question! We are working on watching less TV and spending more quality time together. So far she is doing great! We love you so much sweet girl!

Goofy girl!
